The X Factor ended its season with no miraculous ratings recovery.
FOX: Although THE X FACTOR‘s season finale was up 0.5 from last week to 1.7, that number was down a horrific 1.4 from last year’s finale, barely more than half as strong. With 3 weekly hours of primetime in the balance, FOX has a tough decision to make between now and May.
NBC: THE SING-OFF was down 0.1 from last week to 1.2, then a SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE XMAS clip show rose to 1.7.
ABC: After 1.7 for the millionth run of A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS, the News division’s THE YEAR was at 1.4.
CBS: An all-rerun night, highlighted of course by THE BIG BANG THEORY at 2.8–which outrated all the original programming on the other networks. Everything else gradually dropped after that.
CW: Reruns, although it’s slightly notable that the REIGN rerun at 0.3 outpaced THE VAMPIRE DIARIES at 0.2, suggesting that some viewers are using the lull to sample the struggling new series.
CBS and CW have all-new line-ups tonight, including a colorized I LOVE LUCY special on CBS. NBC airs the annual broadcast of IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE.
