ABC was the odd network out last night, despite an all-new line-up.
NBC: THE WINNER IS was far from the winner in its Thursday premiere with a 1.0. (It followed a repeat of itself, which didn’t do much worse with 0.8.) The premiere of HOLLYWOOD GAME NIGHT fared better. Per Mitch Metcalf: Game Night premiered last night to an okay 1.3 adult 18-49 rating at 10PM. In its favor, it grew from the anemic 1.0 rating for The Winner Is… at 9 pm, but even more significantly it grew at the midway point (from a 1.2 from 10:00-10:30 to 1.4 from 10:30-11:00).
ABC: The fresh programming on other networks plunged ABC to an awful night. WIPEOUT and MOTIVE both had series lows at 0.9 and 0.8 respectively, and ROOKIE BLUE hit a season low 1.0, down 0.2 from 2 weeks ago (it was preempted last week for the 4th of July).
CBS: BIG BROTHER livened things up at 9PM, tying FOX for the lead with 2.0 in an hour in which all 4 networks aired new programming. The rest of the night was reruns, dominated by 1.9 for THE BIG BANG THEORY.
FOX: A HELL’S KITCHEN rerun with 0.8 at 8PM led into the 2.0 for the new episode at 9PM.
CW: Reruns at 0.2/0.2.
Another quiet Friday is in store, with some new newsmagazines and the burn-off of CULT on CW. Saturday brings a new AN AMERICAN GIRL TV-movie on NBC, which is probably some kind of time-buy. The big arrival on Sunday is Season 2 of THE NEWSROOM on HBO.
