Another night for none of the networks to feel good about.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.
CBS: After a 2 week break for NCAA TOURNAMENT games,THE BIG BANG THEORY crashed by 1.2, hitting a season low 3.2. That set the tone for THE ODD COUPLE’s 0.6 fall to 1.9. After a BIG BANG rerun at 1.8, MOM was down 0.2 to 2.0. (MOM therefore did better after a BIG BANG rerun than ODD COUPLE did after a fresh episode.) ELEMENTARY was also down 0.2 to 1.2.
NBC: DATELINE gained 0.3 to 1.3, but THE BLACKLIST and the finale of THE SLAP were merely steady at 1.6 (holding its series low) and 0.7.
ABC: GREY’S ANATOMY fell 0.4 to a series low 1.8. SCANDAL dropped 0.2 to a season low 2.1. AMERICAN CRIME lost 0.2 to 1.1.
FOX: BONES was down 0.2 to 1.1, and BACKSTROM shed 0.1 to 0.8.
CW: Reruns at 0.3/0.2.
Only CBS is all new tonight, although ABC has fresh episodes of its sitcoms, and NBC features a new GRIMM.
COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
