UPDATED: THE SKED CABLE/NETWORK THURSDAY SCORECARD – 7/31/14

NETWORK UPDATE:  ROOKIE BLUE and NY MED were up 0.1 in final numbers–but not THE QUEST.  BIG BROTHER also gained 0.1.

THURSDAY CABLE:  The new series on USA and FX continued to flounder.  On USA, RUSH fell 15% to 0.41, while SATISFACTION was at least stable at 0.44.  Things were even worse at FX, where MARRIED dropped by almost half to 0.23, and YOU’RE THE WORST tumbled 30% to 0.18.  Syfy, by comparison, as robust, with DEFIANCE and DOMINION moving just a few ticks to twin 0.45s.  LOITER SQUAD (Adult Swim) held at 0.7/0.6.   On the unscripted side, History was very steady with PAWN STARS at 0.9/1.0 and PAWNOGRAPHY at 0.7/0.6.  BEYOND SCARED STRAIGHT (A&E) was up 0.1 to 0.7.  On VH1, DATING NAKED was at 0.50 (1.04M total viewers), CANDIDLY NICOLE was at 0.28 (580K total viewers), and LEEANN & EDDIE was at 0.21 (459K total viewers).

Another big swing and miss for ABC with a splashy reality premiere.

ABC:  The network has spent all summer promoting THE QUEST, its expensive quasi-medieval competition series, but with little effect:  its 0.7 premiere couldn’t even beat last week’s season finale of Black Box.  After a week off, ROOKIE BLUE returned with a standard 0.9, and NY MED was down 0.1 from last week at 0.9.

CBS:  BIG BROTHER was once again the night’s biggest show, steady with last week at 2.1.  THE BIG BANG THEORY was naturally at the top of the reruns that surrounded it at 1.6 (down 0.2 from last week).

NBC:  A very stable night.  HOLLYWOOD GAME NIGHT and WELCOME TO SWEDEN were each down 0.1 (to 1.0 and 0.7), while WORKING THE ENGELS and LAST COMIC STANDING held at 0.6/1.1.

FOX:  Even though its lead-in plummeted (from last week’s 1.7 for a new Hell’s Kitchen to 0.5 for a SLEEPY HOLLOW rerun), GANG RELATED remained at 0.7.

CW:  Reruns at a barely-there 0.1/0.1.

Note to Readers:  For the rest of the summer, the Friday night primetime line-up will be a very Saturday-like mix of newsmagazines and reruns (with Syfy’s WWE programming the highlight on cable), so we’ll be taking a break from Friday ratings reports until the new season begins next month.
