UPDATED: THE SKED CABLE/NETWORK TUESDAY SCORECARD – 7/8/14

NETWORK UPDATE:  EXTREME WEIGHT LOSS gained 0.1 of poundage in final numbers.  However, both the CW reruns dropped by 0.1.

TUESDAY CABLE:  Germany’s demolition of Brazil in the World Cup semifinals (ESPN) was the day’s easy winner at 1.9, as detailed in today’s WORLD CUP SKEDBALL post.  FINDING CARTER (MTV) debuted fairly well with 0.7/0.6 for its 2-hour premiere (same in its primetime hour as Monday’s TEEN WOLF, and also steady with the CATFISH special that preceded it), with 1.0 in Persons 18-34 and 1.5 in Women within that demo, and with 1.7 in teens and a big 2.9 in teen girls.)  On ABCFamily, PRETTY LITTLE LIARS was up 0.1 to 1.0 in 18-49s, and was at 2.3 in Women 18-34 and 3.2 in teen girls, while CHASING LIFE was steady at 0.5 in 18-49s, and was at 1.1/1.6 in the target demos.    On TNT, RIZZOLI & ISLES and PERCEPTION were at 1.1/0.6, which was up 0.2 for RIZZOLI.  THE DEADLIEST CATCH (Discovery) held at 1.0.  THE HAVES AND HAVE NOTS (OWN) was up just enough to be rounded to 1.0.  TYRANT (FX) gained a welcome 0.1 to 0.6.  On USA, ROYAL PAINS rose 0.1 to 0.6, but COVERT AFFAIRS remained at 0.3, more bad news for a show that appears to be toast.  On Comedy Central, DRUNK HISTORY rose 0.1 to 0.6, but NATHAN FOR YOU fell 0.1 to 0.3.

Even with a rerun, America’s Got Talent topped everything else on the networks last night.

Daily Comp 3way 2014 Tue Jul 08

NBC:  The AMERICA’S GOT TALENT rerun was naturally down almost a point from last week’s new episode, but its 1.7 was still enough to carry the night.  Impressively, despite the much lower lead-in, THE NIGHT SHIFT lost just 0.1 to 1.3.

ABC:  EXTREME WEIGHT LOSS gained 0.1 to 1.0, and CELEBRITY WIFE SWAP was steady at 1.0.

CBS:  Reruns, led by NCIS at 1.1.

FOX:  Reruns, highlighted by FAMILY GUY at 0.7.

CW:  The network indeed did better with reruns than it had with the quickly-canceled Famous in 12, earning twin 0.3s.

CBS’s EXTANT is probably the highest-profile launch of the broadcast network summer, boasting as it does Halle Berry in the lead and Steven Spielberg as one of its producers, and it arrives tonight.  On cable, FX has the Season 2 premiere of THE BRIDGE.
