Last night’s live Supreme Court announcement may lead to some adjustments this afternoon.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.
CW: The only network to stick with regular programming during the 8PM hour may have benefited from being the only game in town, as THE FLASH rose 0.2 from last week to 1.1, and LEGENDS OF TOMORROW gained 0.1 to 0.7.
FOX: After a NEW GIRL rerun shared the 8PM slot with the announcement, THE MICK grew by 0.1 to 1.1, and BONES was steady at 0.9.
NBC: Due to the news programming, NBC aired a rerun of THE WALL at 8PM (currently 1.2), with the night’s new episode down 0.2 from last week to 1.4. The night ended with a 0.9 THIS IS US rerun.
CBS: The only new show of the night was the 0.9 SUPER BOWL GREATEST COMMERCIALS at 9PM. The rest of the evening included reruns and the annoucement at 0.6-1.0.
ABC: Similarly, only AGENTS OF SHIELD was new, and it held at 0.6. The announcement/rerun line-up was at 0.6-0.9.
THE 100 returns to CW tonight. On cable, BET premieres its miniseries MADIBA and continuing series THE QUAD, THE EXPANSE returns to Syfy, and History has the season finale of VIKINGS.
COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
