AFTERNOON UPDATE: AGENTS OF SHIELD gained an additional 0.1 in adjusted numbers, putting it at 2.1, 0.2 higher than last week’s 8PM episode. (The night’s rerun was up 0.1 as well.) Apart from that, a lot of shows also grew by 0.1, in some cases thus narrowly avoiding a series low. Climbers included THE VOICE, NCIS, THE ORIGINALS, NEW GIRL and PERSON OF INTEREST. However, ABOUT A BOY, GROWING UP FISHER and SUPERNATURAL all lost 0.1.
TUESDAY CABLE: FARGO (FX) got off to a mild 0.8 start, considerably below the premiere of THE AMERICANS (1.2) and not even up to THE BRIDGE (0.9). THE GAME (BET) led cable with 1.2, tying last week. TEEN MOMS REUNION (MTV) was at 1.0, 0.2 below last week’s regular season finale, and the AWKWARD season premiere was at 0.8, down 0.1 from last year’s premiere. On Comedy Central, TOSH.0 (0.9) and INSIDE AMY SCHUMER (0.7) were both up 0.1 from last week. THE LITTLE COUPLE (TLC) was at 0.8, and DANCE MOMS (Lifetime), LET’S STAY TOGETHER (BET) and 19 KIDS AND COUNTING (TLC) were at 0.7.
ABC”s double-barreled Agents of SHIELD evening worked–a little bit.
ABC: The move of AGENTS OF SHIELD to 9PM, preceded by a rerun of last week’s game-changing episode (which got a 1.0) yielded a 2.0 rating, up 0.1 from last week’s final but up 0.3 from the overnights, so we’ll see this afternoon how big the payoff really was. CELEBRITY WIFE SWAP was at 1.0 in the 10PM slot, down 0.3 from last summer’s debut.
CBS: A bad night for both NCIS shows, as the parent series fell half a point to 2.1, and NCIS LA dropped 0.2, also to 2.1. PERSON OF INTEREST was down 0.2 to 1.7 from its last new episode 2 weeks ago.
NBC: THE VOICE was steady with last Tuesday at 2.9, then ABOUT A BOY grew 0.2 to 1.9, and GROWING UP FISHER slipped 0.1 to 1.5. (However, the Voice and Boy numbers often shift in the afternoon.) CHICAGO FIRE wound up the night down 0.1 to 1.7.
FOX: GLEE remained at 1.0. The first original NEW GIRL to air since March was down 0.1 to 1.1, then THE MINDY PROJECT was similarly down to 1.0.
CW: The first new episode of THE ORIGINALS in April fell 0.1 to 0.6, and SUPERNATURAL was steady at 0.8.
ABC, CBS and NBC mostly serve up reruns tonight on the scripted side.
