CW: RIVERDALE had the most impressive Season 2 return of any network series this fall, up 0.3 from the January 2017 series premiere (on a Thursday) to a new series high 0.8, which also doubled its Season 1 finale. But even with that lead-in, DYNASTY floundered at 0.4 (down to 0.3 in its 2d half-hour), making the network 0 for 2 on series launches.
ABC: THE GOLDBERGS dropped 0.2 to 1.4, SPEECHLESS was also down 0.2 to 1.1, and MODERN FAMILY slipped 0.1 to 1.8. AMERICAN HOUSEWIFE (1.4) and DESIGNATED SURVIVOR (0.9) were steady.
FOX: EMPIRE held at 1.9, and STAR gained 0.1 to 1.5.
NBC: THE BLACKLIST (0.9) and SVU (1.2) were each down 0.1, while CHICAGO PD stayed at 1.2.
CBS: The entire line-up was steady with last week, with SURVIVOR at 1.6, SEAL TEAM at 1.2, and CRIMINAL MINDS at 1.1.
CW continues rolling out its schedule tonight, with season premieres of SUPERNATURAL and ARROW.
COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
