CBS’s Olympics counterprogramming had a solid start.

DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).

CBS:  BIG BROTHER: CELEBRITY EDITION launched well at 1.8.  However, a 2-hour installment of THE AMAZING RACE fell 0.2 from last week’s hour to 1.1.

NBC:  THE BLACKLIST (1.0) and CHICAGO PD (1.2) were steady.  An event SVU that featured the return of Sam Waterston and the exit of a series regular rose 0.1 to 1.3.

FOX:  THE X-FILES stayed at 0.9, and 9-1-1 gained 0.1 to 1.7.

CW:  RIVERDALE dropped 0.1 to a season low 0.4, and DYNASTY remained at 0.2.

ABC:  After a run of the movie INSIDE OUT at 0.8, MATCH GAME was down 0.1 to 0.6.

Although the Opening Ceremony isn’t until tomorrow, NBC begins its primetime coverage of the WINTER OLYMPICS tonight.  The other broadcast networks will mostly air a mix of reruns and special programming throughout its run, but tonight FOX has the season finale of THE FOUR.

COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
