A steady evening.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.
CBS: BIG BROTHER topped the night, down 0.1 from last week to 1.8. Although AMERICAN GOTHIC’s 0.7 is nothing to crow about, it was notably steady despite a roughly 50% drop in lead-in, from last week’s BIG BROTHER premiere to 0.9 from a CRIMINAL MINDS rerun.
NBC: Another installment of the swimming US OLYMPIC TRIALS was at 1.2, and back-to-back episodes of THE NIGHT SHIFT were down 0.1 from last week’s single episode to 0.8.
FOX: MASTERCHEF held at 1.1, and WAYWARD PINES gained 0.1 to 0.8.
ABC: Sitcom reruns, led by 1.1 for MODERN FAMILY.
CW: Reruns at 0.2/0.2.
Music is the key tonight, as GREATEST HITS premieres on ABC, and SEX&DRUGS&ROCK&ROLL returns to FX.
COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
