There was very little interest in the return of EXTANT, rebooted or otherwise.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.
CBS: EXTANT got off to a terrible season start, setting a new series low with a 0.7 rating that was 0.4 below last season’s finale. Earlier, BIG BROTHER dropped 0.3 from last Wednesday to a still-big 1.8, although CBS dissipated most of that potential lead-in for EXTANT by having it follow a 0.9 CRIMINAL MINDS rerun instead.
FOX: MASTERCHEF lost 0.1 to 1.4, and BULLSEYE gained 0.1 to 0.9.
ABC: CELEBRITY WIFE SWAP fell 0.1 to 0.8, below the night’s 1.0 MODERN FAMILY rerun.
NBC: Reruns of AMERICA’S GOT TALENT and AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR were solid at 1.1/1.2.
CW: Reruns at twin 0.3s.
It’s a fully-booked night tonight on the networks, with only 2 hours of reruns amid a ton of fresh (and mostly scripted) programming.
COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
