Has American Idol finally leveled out?
FOX: After 3 weeks of consecutive drops that brought the show down 0.7 from a month ago, AMERICAN IDOL was up a tick last night to 3.2. That’s still a full point below its season average, and just over half its season high, but it may be the best the network can hope for right now.
ABC: The second episode of HOW TO LIVE WITH YOUR PARENTS (FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE) fell 0.4 from last week to 2.5. That matched the 0.4 drop for the week’s MODERN FAMILY (to 3.8), and also matched the 1.3 decline from Family that SUBURGATORY had the last time a fresh Family was its lead-in (this is, frankly, better than the lame How To Live deserves). The rest of the night was stable, with THE MIDDLE even at 2.0, Suburgatory down 0.1 (in its new slot) to 1.7, and NASHVILLE, aided by a rerun on NBC, up 0.1 to 1.8, its second consecutive increase.
CBS: SURVIVOR was down 0.1 to 2.4, barely above its series low. CRIMINAL MINDS improved 0.2 to 3.0, and CSI (also helped by NBC’s scheduling) was up 0.3 to an above-season-average 2.4, easily winning the hour.
NBC: After a 1.2 DATELINE, an SVU rerun was at 1.0, and a promotional rerun of the HANNIBAL pilot was at 0.9.
CW: Reruns, both at 0.4.
CBS, CW and (except for WIFE SWAP) ABC are in reruns tonight, which should make things easier for NBC, which airs both the season finale of GO ON and the second episode of Hannibal. On cable, the season finales of ARCHER and LEGIT are on FX.
