THE SKED’S MONDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 1/14/13

Not a good night for newcomers.

NBC:  Even though THE BIGGEST LOSER was steady from last week at 2.4, DECEPTION fell a heavy 0.4 to a third-place 1.6 in its hour.  Worse yet, it slid during the course of the broadcast, with a 1.5 at 10:30PM suggesting that it hasn’t yet found its level.  At this point it’s pretty much done as a continuing enterprise, although it’s still keeping the timeslot warm for the return of Revolution in March.

CW:  Despite tons of hype, THE CARRIE DIARIES had a mediocre 0.6 in its premiere (plus another 0.4 for the instant rebroadcast), suggesting it’s going to place in that 90210/Hart of Dixie/Beauty & the Beast limbo where most of the network’s shows live on the bubble.

CBS:  The sitcoms were all up from their last new episodes in 2012:  HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER by 0.4 to 3.8 (a season high), 2 BROKE GIRLS by 0.6 to 4.1, and MIKE & MOLLY by 0.2 to 3.5.  The network tried to raise some interest in HAWAII 5-0 with a “vote for the ending” gimmick (which felt very 2004), and only held even at 2.4, still enough to easily win the hour.

ABC:  A very steady night, with THE BACHELOR up a tick to 2.4 and CASTLE even at 1.9.

FOX:  2 hours of BONES both had 2.1s, up 0.2 from December.

Everything is new tonight except for ABC’s hour of sitcom reruns at 8PM in the Dancing With the Stars Results slot (taken over next week by The Taste).
