THE SKED’S SUNDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 12/9/12

Not so Amazing.

CBS:  The cycle finale of THE AMAZING RACE tied its all-time finale low at 2.6, down more than a ratings point from last fall’s finale.  Instead of Race boosting THE MENTALIST at 10PM, that show was down 0.2 for the week to 1.6.

ABC:  A night of Christmas specials, with 1.4s for a pair of PREP & LANDING reruns (they were considerably up from last year, but in 2011 they aired during the low-rated days immediately before the holiday).  The HALLMARK HALL OF FAME is aimed at an older audience than ABC’s usual crowd, so although “Christmas With Holly” with its 1.8 was considerably below Revenge‘s 18-49 rating at 9PM, it had a higher total viewership.

FOX:  As usual, the late NFL game helped the 8PM hour, with a 3.4 for THE SIMPSONS and a 2.1 for BOB’S BURGERS.  Things stabilized at 9PM, where FAMILY GUY was down slightly from 2 weeks ago, and AMERICAN DAD was up 0.2 from the Cleveland Show that aired at 9:30PM that night.

NBC:  3 more weeks of Sunday NFL-fueled wins for the Peacock, then…  The preliminary 6.9 for last night’s Green Bay vs. Detroit game was 0.3 higher than last week’s early rating.

Tonight, NBC premieres its week-long 9PM filler game show TAKE IT ALL, followed by a MICHAEL BUBLE CHRISTMAS SPECIAL.  FOX is preempted for the AMERICAN COUNTRY AWARDS, and ABC has 2 more hours of EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION.  CBS airs its normal schedule except for an extra 2 BROKE GIRLS instead of Mike & Molly at 9:30PM.
