A fond farewell to Wisteria Lane.
ABC: The bang-up season finale of ONCE UPON A TIME scored a 3.2, its best number in 2 months, sending the series to summer hiatus on a high. DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES shuffled off its mortal coil with the same 3.2, not exactly an event number (just slightly higher than last season’s finale), but a very respectable exit.
CBS: SURVIVOR‘s season finale did an OK 2.8, just about the same number that regular episodes have been doing on Wednesdays. SURVIVOR REUNION fell to 2.4. Both these numbers were around 30% below Survivor‘s conclusion numbers a year ago.
NBC: With increased reality competition on the night, the penultimate CELEBRITY APPRENTICE of the season fell slightly to tie its all-time low 1.8. HARRY’S LAW, on its way to the TV graveyard, rose a bit to 1.0.
FOX: With the exception of BOB’S BURGERS, which held steady at 1.8, all the FOX animations were down for the week, THE SIMPSONS hit a new (all-time?) low of 1.9 and FAMILY GUY was at a season-low 2.3. (Who knew the Family Guy audience was loaded with Desperate Housewives fans?)
As May Sweeps heads into its final 10 days, the parade of season finales switches to high gear: SMASH on NBC, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, 2 1/2 MEN, MIKE & MOLLY and HAWAII 5-0 on CBS, BONES on FOX and GOSSIP GIRL and HART OF DIXIE on CW. In addition, the new cycle of THE BACHELORETTE has its premiere on ABC, and NBC welcomes Howard Stern to the judges’ table on AMERICA’S GOT TALENT.
