Even exhibition football is football.
NBC: NFL PRESEASON FOOTBALL took the night with a 2.9, which is just a taste of what the numbers will be in a few weeks when the real thing returns. Even a MADDEN NFL pre-show came in 2d place in the 7PM hour, trailing only… football.
FOX: A 2.0 afternoon NFL PRESEASON FOOTBALL overrun was enough to win the night’s first hour, then animated reruns were 1.7-2.0.
CBS: The night’s highest rated non-gridiron score was 2.5 for BIG BROTHER. However, reruns scoring 0.8-1.0 doomed the night.
ABC: The best number the network could muster was 1.2 for an AMERICA’S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS rerun.
Plenty of new programming available tonight, with HOTEL HELL and HELL’S KITCHEN on FOX, BACHELOR PAD on ABC, STARS EARN STRIPES and GRIMM on NBC, and THE LA COMPLEX on CW.
