THE SKED’S WEDNESDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 2/6/13

February Sweeps stunts by NBC and CBS both fail.

NBC:  The network aggressively promoted last night’s SVU because it featured Mike Tyson as a guest star, but the show dropped 0.2 to 1.5, in 4th place for its hour.  CHICAGO FIRE had an even steeper fall, down 0.3 to 1.8, but that was enough to edge out ABC and avoid last place at 10PM.  In the night’s opening hour, WHITNEY and GUYS WITH KIDS had matching 1.2s, which were respectively up and down 0.1 from last week.

ABC:  An oddly uneven night.  On the plus side, THE NEIGHBORS and SUBURGATORY were both up, respectively by 0.2 to 1.8 and by 0.3 to 2.1.  But the rest of the night was down:  THE MIDDLE by 0.2 to 2.3, MODERN FAMILY by 0.4 to 3.8 (season low), and NASHVILLE by 0.2 to 1.7 (series low).

FOX:  No good news over at AMERICAN IDOL, either, which fell a whopping 0.9 to a still-dominant 4.6.

CBS:  After 1.2 for a rerun PERSON OF INTEREST in the Survivor slot, CRIMINAL MINDS fell 0.4 to 2.7, and CSI, starting a Sweeps crossover with CSI NY, was down 0.2 to 2.4, still easily winning the hour.

CW:  ARROW rose a tick to 1.0, and SUPERNATURAL held steady at 0.9.

Tonight is bittersweet for fans of COMMUNITY, as the show returns from its long absence, but without series creator Dan Harmon calling the shots.  NBC will also spend tonight praying for a miracle on the Episode 2 ratings for DO NO HARM, after last week’s disastrous launch. All the networks feature fresh programming except that ABC has a rerun SHARK TANK holding the 8PM slot warm until Zero Hour arrives next week.
