Top broadcast and cable programs this week and last. Shark Week kicked off Sunday on Discovery with the mockumentary Megalodon: Monster Shark at 9:00 pm, which matched the 2.2 True Blood rating with Adults 18-49 on HBO at the same time. NFL’s pre-season Hall of Fame Game on NBC, also on Sunday, was the top program of the week. Not shown on the chart (below the 1.3 rating threshold), Dexter on Showtime Sunday at 9:00 pm dipped to a 1.1 rating (from a 1.2 rating in recent weeks). Caught up in the CBS-Time Warner Cable blackout in major markets such as New York, Los Angeles, Dallas and other cities, Showtime’s flagship drama appears to be more impacted than top CBS shows, which have always skewed toward more mid-sized and smaller markets. Sunday’s Big Brother on CBS, for example, was unchanged versus last week (before CBS was pulled off Time Warner systems).
