“Say the name of the highest rated program of the week. Say it.”
“Breaking Bad.”
“You’re Goddamn right.”
AMC’s extraordinary drama Breaking Bad tops the list of broadcast and cable programs for the week. The first of the final eight episodes of the landmark series scored a 2.9 rating with Adults 18-49 Sunday, including viewers who watched it live or on their DVR before 3 am late Sunday/ early Monday morning. Viewers who have binged on earlier seasons with Netflix or other outlets showed up at AMC on their cable or satellite system to see it as soon as they could to be part of the communal experience. Ratings will only continue to rise as the three-day and seven-day DVR viewing is tabulated throughout this week. The show is truly outstanding (see Mitch Salem’s review) and deserves every bit of commercial success as it winds up its five-year journey.
