The first “event” of May sweeps went splat.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.
FOX: The AMERICAN COUNTRY COUNTDWN AWARDS had no impact at 1.0, although that was up 0.1 from the show’s last airing on a Monday in late 2014. The night started with a pair of 0.7/0.7 animated reruns.
ABC: AMERICA’S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS had a boost from afternoon NBA PLAYOFFS action, and we’ll see if its 1.3 (up 0.1 from last week) is sustained in final numbers. ONCE UPON A TIME, THE FAMILY and QUANTICO were all steady with last week at 1.2/0.8/1.0.
CBS: After 60 MINUTES held last week’s 1.0, MADAM SECRETARY and THE GOOD WIFE were also steady at twin 1.0s, and ELEMENTARY was up 0.1 to 0.8.
NBC: LITTLE BIG SHOTS returned from a week off, down 0.1 from its last new episode at 1.6. (As usual, the night started with a BIG SHOTS rerun at 0.8.) That boosted the rest of the line-up, with THE CARMICHAEL SHOW up 0.3 to 1.0, CROWDED up 0.1 to 0.8 and DATELINE up 0.1 to 1.0.
FOX gets a jump on summer tonight with the launch of HOUDINI & DOYLE, which will air the bulk of its episodes after the regular season is over. On CBS, THE ODD COUPLE expands to a second night, and NCIS: NEW ORLEANS airs its season finale.
COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
