Weekend Box Office Predictions 2.5-7.2016

Weekend #6 of 2016 is looking like $94 million for the top 12 films this weekend, below the norm for this time of year (see comparisons below).

Hail, Caesar! from Universal should open with $12.5 million Friday-Sunday. The film is on track for around $41 million domestic in its run. Overseas the film could bring in $32 million, giving it a worldwide box office target of $73 million.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies from Sony should open with $11.0 million Friday-Sunday. The film is on track for around $30 million domestic in its run. Overseas the film could bring in $15 million, giving it a worldwide box office target of $45 million.

The Choice from Lionsgate should open with $7.5 million Friday-Sunday. The film is on track for around $16 million domestic in its run. Overseas the film could bring in $9 million, giving it a worldwide box office target of $25 million.

This Friday-Sunday is looking like $94 million, down -29% from the multi-year average for the comparable weekend and down -31% from the same weekend last year.
