CBS won another week with NCAA basketball tournament games throughout the week and a lot of repeats on the other networks.  NBC’s The Voice returned to the schedule this week, putting NBC in a virtual three-way tie with ABC and FOX (with only four-hundreths of a rating point separating second from fourth place).

Weekly Rating Mar 25-31
18-49 Rating vs Last Year
CBS 2.27 -11% Up from 2.10 last week
ABC 1.65 -2% Down from 1.78 last week
NBC 1.64 +4% Up from 1.20 last week
FOX 1.61 -27% Down from 1.93 last week
4-net 7.17 -10% Down from 8.01 for same week last year

The Voice certainly improved NBC’s recent fortunes (weekly ratings around a 1.20 for most of the winter without it).  But a 1.64 for the week is far less than the 1.90 we had forecast earlier.  Consequently, we have lowered NBC’s full September-May season forecast to a 2.01 (now a full tenth of a rating point FOX).

Season to Date Sep 24-Mar 31
18-49 Rating vs Last Year (Projected full season)
CBS 2.51 -2% (2.39)
FOX 2.15 -22% (2.11)
NBC 2.10 -9% (2.01)
ABC 1.85 -10% (1.84)
