A bad night for debuts.
FOX: No one showed up for the return of TOUCH, which started with a weak 1.1 in its first hour and fell to an even worse 0.9 in its second. Unless things turn around quickly (unlikely, with Grimm on the way as competition), its mysteries may never be solved.
CBS: Despite heavy promotion during the Super Bowl and elsewhere, THE JOB premiered with a dismal 0.9, in 4th place for its hour. The back-half of a crossover with mothership CSI helped CSI NY to match its season high 1.6, up slightly from last week, and BLUE BLOODS was steady at 1.5.
ABC: LAST MAN STANDING won the 8PM half-hour with a 1.6, up 0.2 from last week, although MALIBU COUNTRY, while up a tick from last week, was still lower at 1.3. SHARK TANK was the night’s highest rated show with an even 1.9. 20/20 tied NBC’s timeslot premere with 1.3.
NBC: 3 hours of news (or news-ish) programming did fairly well, with 1.5 for 2 hours of DATELINE and 1.3 for the Friday debut of ROCK CENTER, better than that show had been doing on Thursdays.
CW: NIKITA showed signs of life (for a CW Friday night) with 0.5, then a CARRIE DIARIES rerun had 0.3.
Tonight is all reruns except for a Grammys-related special about Whitney Houston’s death on CBS (which not coincidentally airs the awards on Sunday) and a run of Despicable Me on ABC. SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE is new, with Justin Bieber navigating both host and musical guest duties. Tomorrow, as noted, is the GRAMMYS, airing against new programming on ABC and FOX.

THE SKED FRIDAY NETWORK SCORECARD
Embattled ABC fared the best on a slow night. ABC: LAST MAN STANDING was down 0.2 from last week to 1.2, but things improved after that, as THE NEIGHBORS held at 0.9, SHARK TANK was easily the highest rated show of the night on any network, steady at 2.0,…

THE SKED’S FRIDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 2/22/13
The last Friday of February sweeps was dull for every network. CBS: After the failure of The Job, CBS rushed UNDERCOVER BOSS back into its 8PM slot, and although Boss outperformed the deceased show, its 1.5 was 0.4 lower than the last time it aired 3 weeks ago (still enough to…

THE SKED’S FRIDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 11/30/12
Good news for ABC’s sitcoms. ABC: LAST MAN STANDING and MALIBU COUNTRY, newly gifted with 5-episode backorders, justified their continued life by rising to 1.6/1.5, a tick or two up from recent weeks. A rerun SHARK TANK and a new 20/20 won their hours with 1.6 and 1.7, respectively. CBS: …

THE SKED’S FRIDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 2/15/13
No one found a Week 2 bounce. FOX: The season’s second episode of TOUCH fared even worse than last week’s season premiere, dropping 0.2 to a 0.7 that makes Fringe seem high-rated in comparison. Touch couldn’t blame its lead-in, as KITCHEN NIGHTMARES edged up to 1.1 at 8PM. Viewers had…
