On Christmas Eve, all the gifts under the broadcast networks’ tree were used.
ABC: The original animated HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS, followed by the sad Jim Carrey/Ron Howard live-action version, scored 1.2/1.3 to take the night, although both were down from last year when–preceded by NBA Basketball–they were at 1.8/1.7. The cartoon was also down from 1.5 on this year’s night after Thanksgiving.
NBC: IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE held its 1.1 from last week’s airing, but was down from 1.5 on Christmas Eve 2012.
CBS: Reruns at 0.8-1.0.
FOX: Reruns at 0.3-0.4.
CW: THE 12 DOGS OF CHRISTMAS howled to 0.2.
There’ll be no joy to the world for anyone seeking original programming tonight, either, although ESPN will be wrapping up the NBA quintuple-header it shares with ABC.
