SHOWBUZZDAILY’s Top 25 Sunday Cable Originals (& Network Update): 11.9.2014

NETWORK UPDATE:  Both THE SIMPSONS and BROOKLYN NINE-NINE gained 0.1 in final numbers.  SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL adjusted up 0.3 to 6.5.

Ratings in key demos for the Top 25 original cable telecasts (plus a few other lower-rated but noteworthy programs):

THE WALKING DEAD (AMC), of course, led Sunday cable, although it lost 0.61 from last week to a still-titanic 6.95.  TALKING DEAD was behind, down a more modest 0.13 to 2.87, and COMIC BOOK MEN slipped 0.04 to 0.64.  HBO can’t have expected much from its ugly duckling trio of THE NEWSROOM, THE COMEBACK and GETTING ON, and the returns were modest:  0.45 for THE NEWSROOM, 0.11 for THE COMEBACK, and 0.10 for GETTING ON.  The 2014 finale of LAST WEEK TONIGHT rebounded nicely after that, up 0.14 to 0.35.  On Showtime, the newly-renewed HOMELAND ticked down to 0.52, and THE AFFAIR was steady at 0.18.  REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NEW JERSEY ATLANTA (Bravo) leaped 0.71 from last week to had its season premiere at 1.76, and FASHION QUEENS was at 0.31.  KOURTNEY & KHLOE TAKE THE HAMPTONS (E!) lost a tenth to 0.81.  On Discovery, ALASKA: THE LAST FRONTIER gained 0.05 to 0.68.  On Adult Swim, MR. PICKLES dropped 0.06 to 0.51, and SQUIDBILLIES was down 0.04 to 0.43.
