NETWORK UPDATE:  NOTE–due to the night’s PRESEASON FOOTBALL preemptions, comparisons are to last Saturday’s final ratings rather than the Sunday morning fast nationals.  NBC:  AQUARIUS ended its season (but not its run!) at 0.2, the same as HANNIBAL (which was down 0.1 from last week) and below the 0.3 for the rerun RUNNING WILD that started the night.  ABC:  BOSTON EMS held at 0.5, but the reruns of AMERICA’S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS and BEYOND THE TANK were each down 0.1, respectively to 0.4 and 0.3.  FOX:  the BULLSEYE rerun stayed at 0.2, and the HOME FREE rerun was down 0.1 to 0.2.  CBS:  The night’s reruns were steady at 0.3/0.5/0.6.

CABLE HIGHLIGHTS:  Starz has to be missing POWER very badly.  The season 2 debut of SURVIVOR’S REMORSE only managed 0.12, down an ugly 0.54 from last week’s POWER season finale, although in keeping with the 0.14 for its own season finale last year.  The much-hyped premiere of BLUNT TALK was barely better at 0.13.  (Both these shows were available online and on VOD prior to their on-air premieres, as was Episode 2 of BLUNT TALK, so we’ll see in the coming weeks if any of the viewers from other platforms come to the show’s linear airings.) 

The top-rated “original” of the night was Adult Swim’s DRAGON BALL Z, which as readers know we count (although it doesn’t appear on our charts) because it’s being shown for the first time in the US in its current version.  This week it was down 0.03 to 0.72, with 1.5M total viewers.  AKAME GA KILL is on the chart, down 0.04 to 0.61.  MICHIKO & HATCHINI was down 0.07 to 0.51, with 1.1M total viewers.  SWORD ART ONLINE fell 0.06 to 0.45, with 955K total viewers.  ATTACK ON TITAN gained 0.05 to 0.43, with 915K total viewers.  NARUTO was down 0.09 to 0.39, with 852K total viewers.  ONE PIECE fell 0.05 to 0.37, with 790K total viewers.

Beyond anime, NASCAR coverage on NBC Sports Net took the checkered flag at 0.70.  Lifetime’s UNAUTHORIZED FULL HOUSE STORY movie was next at 0.61, with a lead-out BEYOND THE HEADLINES follow-up special at 0.50.  NFL Network’s Baltimore vs. Philadelphia PRESEASON FOOTBALL game was at 0.55, and the 2d half of the night’s doubleheader, San Diego vs. Arizona, was at 0.38.  PIONEER WOMAN (Food) edged up 0.02 to 0.37.  COPS (Spike) fell 0.05 to 0.35.  AMC’s HELL ON WHEELS dropped 0.02 to 0.29.  MYTHBUSTERS (Discovery) lost 0.02 to 0.24.  AMERICA’S NEXT WEATHERMAN (TBS) ticked down to 0.24.  A Natasha Leggero stand-up special on Comedy Central was at 0.21.  CEDAR COVE (Hallmark) fell 0.07 to 0.11.  BIG BROTHER AFTER DARK (POP) was at 0.02/77K.
