Old favorites were a little less favorite.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis follows the chart. Note that because there will be little regular programming on the networks over the next 2 weeks, comparison charts will resume after the holidays.
CBS: NOTE–the late afternoon NFL overrun led to the scheduled MADAM SECRETARY rerun not airing in most of the country. 60 MINUTES benefited from the lead-in to climb 1.1 from last week to a preliminary 2.6. The season premiere of UNDERCOVER BOSS fell 0.3 from last year to 1.4. CSI: CYBER climbed 0.3 to 1.1.
FOX: The MISS UNIVERSE PAGEANT might have done better if people had known in advance that the wrong winner was going to be crowned. As it is, the show dropped 0.3 from last year’s NBC airing (which was broadcast 8-11PM rather than 7-10PM) to 1.7.
ABC: The singalong version of THE SOUND OF MUSIC lost 0.2 from last year’s rendition to 1.0.
NBC: Currently, SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL is down 0.7 from last week’s preliminary number to 5.5.
We’re now deep into the networks’ holiday hibernation period. The only new programming on any broadcaster tonight is the duo of GREAT CHRISTMAS LIGHT FIGHT and GREAT HOLIDAY BAKING SHOW on ABC.
COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
This feature will return after the holidays.

The Sked: SUNDAY Ratings
Sunday preliminary broadcast ratings: 60 Minutes and the CBS 7:00-7:30 half hour specifically inflated by 10 minutes of the end of Masters coverage from 7:00-7:10 pm (mostly the monumentally awkward and amazingly tense ceremony in “Butler Cabin,” where the Green Jacket is awarded).
