Weekend #3 of 2016 is looking like a pretty normal $143 million for the top 12 films this weekend (see comparisons below).
Ride Along 2 from Universal should open with $35.0 million Friday-Sunday and about $43 million Friday-Monday. The film is on track for around $105 million domestic in its run. Overseas the film could bring in $25 million, giving it a worldwide box office target of $130 million.
This would be below the $154.5 million worldwide for Ride Along (released 1.17.2014) with $134.9 million domestic and $19.5 million overseas.
13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi from Paramount should open with $10.5 million Friday-Sunday and about $13.5 million Friday-Sunday. The film is on track for around $26 million domestic in its run. Overseas the film could bring in $5 million, giving it a worldwide box office target of $31 million.
Norm of the North from Lionsgate should open with $8.0 million Friday-Sunday and about $10 million Friday-Monday. The film is on track for around $19 million domestic in its run. Overseas the film could bring in $15 million, giving it a worldwide box office target of $34 million.
