NOTE TO READERS:  This week, afternoon charts will likely be posted initially in preliminary form, to be updated and in the full regular format later in the day.  The Top 40 Cable Originals Chart has been updated.

NETWORK UPDATE:  DATELINE and the reruns of MASTERCHEF and SHARK TANK gained 0.1 in final numbers, while MASTERS OF ILLUSION and the rerun of PENN & TELLER: FOOL US fell by the same amount.

CABLE HIGHLIGHTS:  It was Disney Channel’s night, with 2 shows in the Top 10 (and another at #11).  DESCENDANTS was the big winner with a dominating 1.40 18-49 rating and 3.20 among F12-34s.  (Not surprisingly, the numbers only went up as the demo age declined:  5.26 for 12-17s, and 7.57 for 2-11s.)  In 18-49s/F12-34s, that compares to 1.03/3.13 for TEEN BEACH 2.  Farther down the list, Disney’s lead-out BUNKD was at 0.75/2.11.  Nor were those the only family programming in the Top 10, as Cartoon Network’s WE BARE BEARS and TEEN TITANS TO were both at 0.39, and Nickelodeon’s MUTT & STUFF was up 0.06 from last week to 0.33.  The highest-rated adult-oriented line-up of the night belonged to Discovery, where ALASKAN BUSH PEOPLE fell 0.16 to 0.81 and TREASURE QUEST was down 0.06 to 0.46.  Lifetime’s BRING IT returned at 0.44, with a lead-in special at 0.34 and new lead-out ATLANTA PLASTIC at 0.29.  At History, ANCIENT ALIENS was down a tick to 0.32, and MISSING IN ALASKA lost 0.02 to 0.18.  We’s MARRIAGE BOOT CAMP dropped 0.13 to 0.31.  COLD JUSTICE returned to TNT at 0.27, leading into the new COLD JUSTICE: SEX CRIMES at 0.19.  Syfy’s line-up remained closely packed:  DARK MATTER at 0.25 (down 0.04), DEFIANCE at 0.24 (down 0.05) and KILLJOYS at 0.23 (down 0.02).   LOVE THY NEIGHBOR (OWN) fell 0.05 to 0.18.  STRIKE BACK began its final Cinemas season at 0.09.  BIG BROTHER AFTER DARK (POP) was at 0.06/182K.  In response to a reader request, the finale of DEGRASSI (Teen Nick) was at 0.07/212K in its first half-hour and 0.06/187K in the second, with a lead-in special at 0.07/208K.
