NETWORK FINALS:  OLYMPICS coverage gained half a point to 6.8 in final numbers.  ABC’s finals were a mess, presumably because of local sports preemptions:  LAST MAN STANDING and DR KEN were each down 0.3 to 0.3/0.2, 20/20 fell 0.2 to 0.3, and BOSTON EMS was down 0.1 to 0.3.  In addition, FOX’s HOTEL HELL reruns were down 0.1 to 0.3.

CABLE HIGHLIGHTS:  ESPN’s first NFL PRESEASON game, which featured the newly rechristened LA Rams vs. Dallas, swamped Saturday cable at 1.06 (on NFL Network, the earlier Seattle vs. Kansas City game was at 0.32), nearly tripling NBC Sports Net’s RIO SUMMER OLYMPICS coverage at 0.38 during the morning, 0.33 in primetime and 0.27 during the day; Olympics coverage on USA was at 0.23, and CNBC at 0.22, with both MSNBC and Golf Channel at 0.16, and Bravo at 0.14.  On Adult Swim, DRAGON BALL Z fell 0.11 to 0.51/1.194M, ONE PUNCH MAN dropped 0.04 to 0.50, MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM was down 0.03 to 0.41, HUNTER X HUNTER was steady at 0.37/837K, NARUTO held at 0.31/703K, ONE PIECE fell a tenth to 0.23/573K, and PARASYTE dropped 0.07 to 0.21/524K.  Spike’s COPS ticked up to 0.31, and JAIL BIG TEXAS lost a tick to 0.21.  Disney Network’s ELENA OF AVALOR was at 0.28.  Lifetime’s movie PERFECT SISTERS was at 0.24, and Hallmark’s SUMMER IN THE CITY was at 0.21.  On Food Network, PIONEER WOMAN was up 0.02 to 0.24, KITCHEN AT FN ticked down to 0.23, and TRISHA’S SOUTHERN KITCHEN climbed 0.02 to 0.22.  HGTV’s HOUSE HUNTERS RENOVATION lost a hundredth to 0.21.
