SHOWBUZZDAILY’s Top 25 Friday Cable Originals (& Network Update): 12.19.2014

NETWORK UPDATE:  The CW rerun of MR MAGOO’S CHRISTMAS CAROL came down 0.1, and that was it for adjustments from preliminary ratings.

Ratings in key demos for the Top 25 original cable telecasts (plus a few other lower-rated but noteworthy programs):

A GOLD RUSH special on Discovery held the top slot on Friday cable, down 0.20 from last week’s regular episode for a 1.26 that essentially tied the highest rated shows on the broadcast networks.  Discovery followed it with ALASKAN BUSH PEOPLE at 0.63.  ESPN’s NBA BASKETBALL doubleheader was at 0.81/0.57, very close to last week’s numbers.  (Note:  the late-night game, starting past 11PM on the east coast, was the higher-rated.)  After that, aside from the afternoon’s episode of PARDON THE INTERRUPTION (0.47), the cable ratings sank all the way down to 0.33 for TANKED: UNFILTERED on Animal Planet and 0.32 (up 0.06) for DEAL WITH IT on TBS, with a 2d episode at 0.27.  On TNT, WAKE UP CALL lost half its rating to 0.13.  IFC’s pair of COMEDY BANG BANG and BIRTHDAY BOYS are so low-rated that their numbers rattle around week by week, probably because the sample size of its viewers is infinitesimal:  BANG was up 0.03 to 0.05, and BIRTHDAY doubled to 0.04. In response to a reader question, Syfy’s rerun WWE telecast was at 0.51, with 2M total viewers.
