SHOWBUZZDAILY’s Top 25 Friday Cable Originals: 9.12.2014

NETWORK UPDATE:  There was no good news for UTOPIA in final numbers, although 2 other 8PM shows (48 HOURS and MASTERS OF ILLUSION) went up 0.1 each.  DATELINE lost 0.1.

FRIDAY CABLE:  Technical issues kept it off the Top 25 chart below, but Syfy’s premiere of Z NATION was actually the #2 cable original of the night at 0.55 and with 1.58M total viewers.  It was a very impressive start, especially for a sleepy Friday night.  Elsewhere, WWE (Syfy) was in its accustomed place on top, up 0.04 from last week to 0.81.  ESPN’s COLLEGE FOOTBALL coverage came after the zombies at 0.52, down 0.15 from last week.  GIRL MEETS WORLD (Disney) was at 0.51.  BERING SEA GOLD (Discovery) was down 0.06 to 0.47.  HBO’s much-promoted double feature of live Bill Maher shows, REAL TIME followed by a stand-up concert, were mild at 0.25/0.30, although of course they look better if one allows for HBO only being available in 1/3 of US households.  THE KNICK (Cinemax) continues to appeal to a tiny if discerning audience at 0.06 and 322K total viewers.
