NETWORK UPDATE: THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL adjusted up to 4.5, the night’s easy winner but nowhere near last week’s 7.5. (It also scored 1.15 in its NFL Network simulcast.)
THURSDAY CABLE: ESPN’s COLLEGE FOOTBALL coverage (featuring two top 25 teams: #5-Auburn at #20-Kansas State) led the night at 1.34, far higher than last week’s 0.38 rating. PROJECT RUNWAY (Lifetime) slipped 0.6 but held 2d place with 0.74, and BLACK JESUS (Adult Swim) lost a tenth to 0.65, with PAWN STARS (History) at 0.65/0.62, and RIDICULOUSNESS (MTV) down 0.04 to 0.54. GARFUNKEL & OATES (IFC) gained 0.01 to 0.07. The night’s main attraction, though, was a plethora of season finales, none of which was particularly impressive in the ratings. SATISFACTION (USA) led the way at 0.42, down 0.07 from last week, and its companion piece RUSH lost last week’s odd bump and dropped 0.22 to its more standard level of 0.35. On FX, MARRIED gained 0.04 to 0.36, and YOU’RE THE WORST was dead even at 0.31. There was no boost for the final chapter of the superb HONORABLE WOMAN (Sundance), which ended its run at 0.014 and 177K total viewers.
