THE SKED 2013 UPFRONTS: NBC Promo – “The Blacklist”

Wasting no time, NBC has already issued the promo for its fall Monday 10PM drama THE BLACKLIST:

At first glance, it appears to be a mash-up of 24 and Silence of the Lambs, with James Spader as the show’s ersatz Hannibal Lecter, with his own Clarice Starling-ish inexperienced FBI agent as his confidante (there’s even a “quid pro quo” moment), but with much more action and ticking bombs added.  This is likely to be one of those shows with a fun pilot that may or may not sustain over time, although Spader certainly seems well-cast as the ambiguous baddie.

Note:  NBC has also posted brief clips of its new sitcoms The Michael J. Fox Show, Welcome To the Family and Sean Saves the World, but apart from noting that none of them seem wildly promising, we’ll withhold judgment until more content is available.
