CW has clarified that the May 13 episode of its rebooted 90210 will be its series finale, not just the end of its 5th season. Although CW likes to give its veteran shows a farewell lap on the way out (as Gossip Girl had earlier this season), 90210 earned its abrupt exit with ratings that had recently plunged from mediocre to dreadful, hovering around 0.3.
With Cult all but officially dead and The Vampire Diaries, Arrow and Supernatural renewed, that leaves 4 shows on CW’s bubble: The Carrie Diaries, Hart of Dixie, Beauty and the Beast and Nikita. Hart has shown some life lately (in the ratings as well as creatively), while Carrie has had little spark in its limited airings, and Beauty squanders at least half of its Vampire lead-in. Nikita, as in past seasons, may be in a special category because of its reported popularity (and revenue) overseas.
