Step up, one and all, for the death-defying showdown of… 2 newsmagazines?
ABC: On another deadly summer Friday, 20/20 beat Dateline with a 1.3 as the only original programming aired by any broadcast network for the night. A SHARK TANK rerun also won the 8PM hour.
NBC: DATELINE was right behind 20/20, but the sitcom reruns at 8PM pushed NBC behind for the night.
CBS: Reruns, with UNDERCOVER BOSS slightly ahead of the scripted procedurals.
FOX: More reruns, nothing over a 0.7.
CW: You guessed it, reruns–at 0.3.
Tonight isn’t much better, with the new programming consisting of burn-offs. CBS gets rid of some NYC 22 debris, and NBC, at long last, reaches the end of its long and weary road of burning off THE FIRM. On Sunday, CBS, adds BIG BROTHER to its menu, but as so often in the summer, the excitement is on cable, where USA launches its very high-profile Washington drama POLITICAL ANIMALS, and AMC brings back the superb BREAKING BAD.
