The Hollywood Film Awards weren’t ready for their close-up.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.
CBS: The network went all-in for THE HOLLYWOOD FILM AWARDS, with 3 1/2 total hours including a pre- and post-show. The result was a disastrous 0.5 for the awards themselves, and 0.4 for the POST-SHOW special. They didn’t redeem themselves in the older-skewing total viewers metric, either. (The show did briefly set the internet on fire, though, thanks to Johnny Depp’s extremely bleeped appearance.) Audiences just weren’t ready for the movie awards season to begin before many of the contenders have even been released.
NBC: Things are looking dire for CONSTANTINE. GRIMM dropped 0.1 to 1.2, but CONSTANTINE fell 0.2 to 0.8, lower than DRACULA was scoring before it was canceled. The night started with 1.5 for DATELINE, up 0.1.
ABC: LAST MAN STANDING rose 0.2 to 1.3, and CRISTELA gained 0.1 to 1.1. SHARK TANK and 20/20, though, were substantially down, SHARK TANK by 0.3 to 1.7, and 20/20 by 0.5 to 1.2.
CW: WHOSE LINE WAS IT ANYWAY and AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL were steady at 0.5/0.4.
FOX: Reruns at 0.7/0.6.
College football occupies 2 networks tonight, with reruns on the rest. SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE features Woody Harrelson (plugging the new HUNGER GAMES movie) as host, with musical guest Kendrick Lamar. Sunday is highlighted by the 2-hour fall finale of ONCE UPON A TIME.
