A fairly typical Friday.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis follows the chart.
CBS: MACGYVER had the best bump of the night, up 0.2 to 1.1, although HAWAII 5-0 followed it with a 0.1 dip to 1.1. The night ended with a 0.8 BLUE BLOODS rerun.
ABC: LAST MAN STANDING was down 0.1 to 1.1, and DR KEN was up 0.1 to 0.9. SHARK TANK had the highest rating of the night, up 0.1 to 1.3, and 20/20 was up 0.1 to 1.0.
NBC: GRIMM (0.8), EMERALD CITY (0.6) and DATELINE (0.8) all stayed at last week’s numbers.
FOX: ROSEWOOD (0.6) and SLEEPY HOLLOW (0.5) were steady.
CW: THE VAMPIRE DIARIES (0.4) and REIGN (0.2) didn’t move.
There’s plenty of original programming in Saturday primetime, but apart from RANSOM/48 HOURS on CBS, it’s all sports: NBA on ABC, NHL on NBC and BOXING on FOX. Tomorrow, of course, belongs to THE OSCARS and ABC, and the broadcast networks are staying away. Note that HBO has released all of its line-up (except LAST WEEK TONIGHT) early via VOD/streaming, and Showtime has done the same with the night’s BILLIONS, to provide alternatives for Oscar viewers.
