An unimpressive night for shows that were hoping to impress.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.
CW: Neither of the premieres landed, as CEDRIC’S BARBER BATTLE debuted at a weak 0.2, and THE MESSENGERS started at 0.3, which was 0.1 below the season premiere of HART OF DIXIE in that slot. In between, a new episode of WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY outdrew them both at 0.4.
ABC: The season finales of LAST MAN STANDING (1.1) and CRISTELA (0.9) were each down 0.1 from last week, particularly bad news for CRISTELA, which will now have to hope for a bad comedy development season at the network to save it from the wrong side of the bubble. SHARK TANK and 20/20 were both steady, respectively at 1.5 and 1.3.
CBS: A 2-hour THE AMAZING RACE remained at 1.1, followed by a 0.6 BLUE BLOODS rerun.
NBC: GRIMM lost 0.1 to 1.0, and DATELINE was also down 0.1 to 0.9.
FOX: The network aired a run of the Cameron Diaz movie BAD TEACHER at 0.6.
Sports takes over two of the networks tonight, with an NHL PLAYOFFS game on NBC and UFC FIGHT NIGHT on FOX. On cable, the event is the return of ORPHAN BLACK to BBCAmerica, where its new lead-out is the British limited series TATAU. On Sunday, CBS reempts its post-60 MINUTES line-up for the 50th edition of the ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS.
