CBS: Not a successful night. THE AMAZING RACE kicked off its move to Fridays at 1.1, slightly over half of last fall’s Sunday premiere, and 0.4 below the start of the spring 2014 arc. HAWAII 5-0, at 1.3, was 0.3 below last fall’s start, and BLUE BLOODS lost half a point from last fall’s 1.7 premiere. (The latter two shows, however, handily won their hours in the older-skewing Total Viewers metric.)
ABC: The very consistent SHARK TANK had the same 1.8 premiere that it did a year ago. With that lead-in, 20/20 spun to 1.6, up 0.6 from last week.
FOX: UTOPIA is still nowhere at 0.7, but it’s weirdly notable that facing two stronger reality shows, it actually grew by 0.2 over last Friday. The network slotted a rerun of the GOTHAM pilot at 9PM, and drew a 0.7.
NBC: After 0.7 for a MYSTERIES OF LAURA rerun, DATELINE rose 0.2 from last week to 1.4.
CW: MASTERS OF ILLUSION lost 0.1 from last week at 0.3, on a night otherwise filled with reruns.
College football occupies two networks tonight, with reruns and clip shows elsewhere aside from a music special on NBC. In late night, Chris Pratt hosts the season premiere of SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE. On cable, Starz has the midseason finale of OUTLANDER. Sunday will be much busier, with the season premieres of ONCE UPON A TIME, RESURRECTION and REVENGE on ABC, THE SIMPSONS, BROOKLYN NINE-NINE and FAMILY GUY on FOX (the latter being the much-hyped crossover hour between the two animated titans) and CSI on CBS. On cable, the seasons of RAY DONOVAN and THE LOTTERY come to an end.

SHOWBUZZDAILY FRIDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 8.21.2015
On another night riddled with football preemptions and likely to be adjusted by Monday numbers, there was little to say. ABC’s WE DAY special went largely unseen at 0.4, and the night’s original 20/20, down 0.2 to 0.7, barely outraged its SHARK TANK rerun lead-in. NBC’S DATELINE won the…
