UPDATED: THE SKED CABLE/NETWORK MONDAY SCORECARD – 6/23/14

NETWORK UPDATE:  AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR lost 0.1 in final numbers.  In addition, the LAST COMIC STANDING rerun gained 0.1, while the rerun WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY dropped 0.1.

MONDAY CABLE:  As detailed in the newest WORLD CUP SKEDBALL post, yesterday was a relatively low-rated day for World Cup matches, and it probably didn’t help that ESPN and ESPN2 cannibalized the audience by airing simultaneous matches.  The ESPN games were easily on top, 0.9/0.7 to 0.5/0.2.  TEEN WOLF returned for its 4th season at 0.9, down 0.1 from last year’s premiere.  (In the MTV target demos, the show was at 1.5 in 18-34s and 1.9 in women in that age group, plus 2.6 in teens and 3.7 in teen girls.)  Monday night belonged to VH1 and USA’s WWE coverage.  On VH1, LOVE & HIP HOP stayed in the lead with 2.0 (plus 0.9 at 10PM), followed by HIT THE FLOOR with 0.9 (plus 0.5 at 11PM).  WWE was at 1.3-1.5 over its 3 hours, steady with last week.  The news wasn’t good at TNT, where MURDER IN THE FIRST sank another 0.1 to 0.4–and this was after MAJOR CRIMES gained 0.1 to 0.8.  On ABCFamily, SWITCHED AT BIRTH and THE FOSTERS were at 0.7/0.6, both up a healthy 0.2 from last week.  (In the network’s target demos, they were at 1.2/1.0 in Women 18-34, and 1.2/1.4 in Females 12-34.  What’s notable, though, is that in the narrower demo of Females 12-17, SWITCHED was at 1.5, but FOSTERS was far bigger at 2.6.)  LONGMIRE (A&E) grew by 0.1 to 0.6.  THE BOONDOCKS (Adult Swim) slipped 0.1 to 0.8.  On the reality side, it was 0.8 for REAL HOUSEWIVES OF OC (Bravo), down 0.2 to 0.7 for SWAMP PEOPLE (History), and 0.7 for STREET OUTLAWS (Discovery)

Not a lot of movement among the networks last night from their summer Monday norms.

Daily Comp 3way 2014 Mon Jun 23

NBC:  AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR had the night’s biggest jump, up 0.2 to 1.8, but the show’s ratings have been very consistent:  last night was its season high, and last week was the season low.  The night started with 1.0 for a LAST COMIC STANDING rerun.

ABC:  THE BACHELORETTE fell 0.2 to 1.5, and then MISTRESSES was flat at 1.0.

FOX:  MASTERCHEF lost 0.1 to 1.7, while 24 stayed at 1.4.

CBS:  An UNDER THE DOME clip show was at 0.8, beaten by all of the sitcom reruns that preceded it (those were led by MIKE & MOLLY at 1.1.)

CW:  The night’s new and rerun WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY were both at 0.6, which was up 0.1 for the new half-hour.  BEAUTY & THE BEAST remained level at 0.3.

Only ABC has an all-new line-up tonight, with a fresh THE NIGHT SHIFT on NBC and FAMOUS IN 12 on CW.  The big event on cable is the arrival of FX’s new drama TYRANT, while COVERT AFFAIRS returns to USA.
