THE SKED’S MONDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 3/18/13

A night of entrances and exits.

ABC:  The Spring premiere of DANCING WITH THE STARS hit a season high 3.1, but that was down 0.4 from last year’s spring launch (even though that one had to face The Voice, as did this season’s fall cycle).  Despite the better lead-in, CASTLE was down a tick to 2.2.

NBC:  The season finale of THE BIGGEST LOSER was a season high 2.6, up 0.6 from last week and even up 0.4 from last spring’s finale (although that aired on a Tuesday).  That helped the season finale of DECEPTION climb 0.2 to 1.3, its highest rating in weeks.

CBS:  All the excitement at NBC and ABC didn’t help the other networks.  The CBS sitcoms were all down with the heavily asterisked exception of RULES OF ENGAGEMENT, which had been airing surrounded by reruns for the past 2 weeks and still only climbed 0.1 to 2.2 with new shows around it.  As for the rest:  HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER fell 0.4 to 2.9, 2 BROKE GIRLS dropped 0.6 to 2.7 (a series low), and MIKE & MOLLY was off 0.3 to 2.4 (season low).  At 10PM, HAWAII 5-0 was up slightly to 2.1 with its first new episode in a month.

FOX:  Not a good night here, either.  THE FOLLOWING matched its series low 2.4 (down 0.3), and BONES was narrowly above its season low at 2.0 (down 0.2).

CW:  THE CARRIE DIARIES made its case to survive the season by rising to 0.5, then a HART OF DIXIE rerun filled the 9PM hour with 0.2.

The networks are all new tonight, with the premiere of the watery reality show SPLASH on ABC and a Justin Timberlake special (tied in to his new release, of course) on CW.
