Nothing hit a 2 rating on the first Friday of the new season.
CBS: HAWAII 5-0 had an underwhelming Friday debut with 1.5, down 0.3 from last year’s Monday start. It was even with the premiere of UNDERCOVER BOSS (which was even with its own premiere last season), but below the 1.7 for BLUE BLOODS (up 0.2 from last year). CBS won the night with an overall 1.6 average.
ABC: The 8PM hour is quickly getting ugly, as LAST MAN STANDING fell 0.3 from last week to 1.2, and THE NEIGHBORS hit a new low 1.0, down 0.2. SHARK TANK was the highest rated show of the night at 1.9, up 0.1 from last week. 20/20 was even at 1.3.
FOX: MASTERCHEF JR had a solid start with 1.6, winning its hour. A rerun of Monday’s SLEEPY HOLLOW had a 0.9.
NBC: The network reran Thursday’s MICHAEL J. FOX SHOW episodes for 0.8, then DATELINE was up 0.2 to 1.3.
CW: Even with last week, with 0.2 for PERFECT SCORE and 0.4 for AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL.
ABC and FOX air college football in primetime tonight, against reruns on the other networks. Later, SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE has its season debut with host Tina Fey and musical guest Arcade Fire (and for the first time ever, NBC will air a music special after SNL featuring more Arcade Fire). As anyone not living in a very deep cave already knows, Sunday’s giant event is the series finale of BREAKING BAD, and cable will also feature the season premiere of HOMELAND on Showtime and launches of EASTBOUND AND DOWN and HELLO LADIES on HBO. The networks are airing shows too, with the returns of THE AMAZING RACE, THE GOOD WIFE and THE MENTALIST on CBS, and the animation line-up on FOX. ABC premieres BETRAYAL after season premieres of ONCE UPON A TIME and REVENGE.

Whatever Undercover Boss did last night, it should do that again. CBS: On a mostly quiet network night, UNDERCOVER BOSS zoomed by half a ratings point to 1.8–not quite the biggest show of the evening, but close. The rest of the line-up didn’t fare as well, as both HAWAII…

THE SKED NETWORK SCORECARD – 9/20/13
Friday wasn’t a friendly neighborhood for ABC’s new arrival. ABC: THE NEIGHBORS arrived on Fridays with a 1.2 thud, down from all its Wednesday numbers and also down 0.3 from its LAST MAN STANDING lead-in. Not that Last Man had anything to feel good about, since its 1.5 was…

THE SKED NETWORK SCORECARD – 10/4/13
ABC: LAST MAN STANDING rose 0.2 from last week to 1.4, enough to tie it for 1st place in the timeslot on a sleepy Friday night. But THE NEIGHBORS is probably just playing out its string, with no bump from last week’s 1.0. SHARK TANK was down 0.2 to…

NBC’s undead are starting to look like corpses. NBC: Just 3 weeks into its season, GRIMM is down to 1.3, already as low as the show scored all last spring. That’s down half a point from its season debut 2 weeks ago, and down 0.2 from last week. It…
