Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Garth Brooks.
CBS: On an otherwise weak night, GARTH BROOKS: LIVE FROM LAS VEGAS towered over everything else at 1.8, better than anything CBS has run all fall in the 9-11PM Friday slot. It was particularly impressive because the special got no lead-in at all from two rerun holiday specials, HOOPS AND YOYO RUIN CHRISTMAS (0.4) and THE ELF ON THE SHELF (0.6).
NBC: GRIMM fell 0.3 to 1.3, but that didn’t hurt DRACULA, which seems to have found its (very low) level at 0.9. The night started with 1.2 for DATELINE, which was up 0.1.
FOX: After 0.6 for a rerun BONES, fresh episodes of RAISING HOPE were each down 0.2 to new low 0.6s.
ABC: The network won the battle of the 8PM Christmas specials, with 1.5s for HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS and SHREK THE HALLS, although those numbers were way down from last year’s non-Friday airings. After 1.2 for a rerun SHARK TANK, 20/20 was down a big 0.7 from last week to 0.9.
CW: Despite a slightly better lead-in from GRANDMA GOT RUN OVER BY A REINDEER at 0.4, NIKITA stayed at 0.2.
College football airs on ABC and FOX tonight, with reruns on the other networks. On Sunday, ABC has the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie CHRISTMAS IN CONWAY, and HBO premieres the final season of TREME, but the non-football event of the night is sure to be AMC’s midseason finale of THE WALKING DEAD.

THE SKED NETWORK SCORECARD – 12/25/13
Reruns decked the halls on Christmas night. ABC: THE MIDDLE and MODERN FAMILY led the way with1.3s, giving ABC the win. NBC: Nothing in the network’s mix of rerun holiday specials and a repeat of Monday’s HOLLYWOOD GAME NIGHT scored above 0.7. CBS: Ditto for a pair of procedurals…

THE SKED NETWORK SCORECARD – 12/27/13
RIP, Nikita. CW: Nobody cared very much about NIKITA while it aired, and its series finale, virtually buried on a holiday week Friday (Univision topped all the English-language networks last night), got just as little attention. It held its 0.2 from last week, the same rating as the CARRIE…

THE SKED NETWORK SCORECARD – 12/24/13
On Christmas Eve, all the gifts under the broadcast networks’ tree were used. ABC: The original animated HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS, followed by the sad Jim Carrey/Ron Howard live-action version, scored 1.2/1.3 to take the night, although both were down from last year when–preceded by NBA Basketball–they were…

THE SKED NETWORK SCORECARD – 1/3/14
NBC: GRIMM gained 0.2 from its last extremely low airing to reach 1.4, but the number isn’t as good as it looks, since it’s down 0.2 from its 1.6 in the previous week. DRACULA fell 0.2 from its last airing. The night started with 1.5 for DATELINE, up 0.4.…
