THE SKED NETWORK SCORECARD – 12/31/13

Happy New Year to all, as we dust off the last ratings of 2013:

ABC:  NEW YEAR’S ROCKIN EVE, aka the Ryan Seacrest New Year’s Eve show, had no trouble disposing of NBC with a 3.7 that more than doubled the competition.  That was, however, down 0.5 from last year.  The late-night portion of the show was at 7.1, down 0.6 from last year.  Earlier in the evening, a 30 GREATEST WOMEN IN MUSIC special did fairly well with 2.1.

NBC:  For its part, NEW YEAR’S EVE WITH CARSON DALY, while not close to ABC and Seacrest at 1.8, still scored its best rating ever, up an impressive 0.6 from last year.  When the show picked up at 11:30PM, it was at 3.1, up 0.3 from last year.  It was preceded by 1.6 for the special A TOAST TO 2013.

CBS:  Reruns highlighted by 0.9 for NCIS.

FOX:  Reruns led by 0.6 for DADS.  (The network’s ratings went progressively down as the night went on and people tuned off.)  The network’s 11:30PM countdown special NEW YEAR’S LIVE was up 0.1 from last year to 2.1.

CW:  Another run of the IHEARTRADIO music special at 0.6.

Reruns, nothing but reruns for New Year’s Night.  The drought ends tomorrow, though, when NBC and ABC start airing new 2014 programming.
