THE SKED NETWORK SCORECARD – 1/26/14

The Grammy Awards had no trouble singing its song last night.

Daily Comparison 2014 Sun Jan 26 three way

CBS:  THE GRAMMY AWARDS were down slightly (0.2) from last year to 9.9 in adjusted numbers, probably because the show ran so far past primetime to an Oscar-level 11:45PM.  The night started with 2.1 for 60 MINUTES, a solid number now that football has finished its run on CBS for the season and up 0.8 from last week.

FOX:  With CBS skewing drastically younger than its usual Sunday schedule, FOX got a scary look at what could happen to its aging animated shows if they ever faced real weekly competition for their demo.  All of them were sharply down from their last original episodes:  THE SIMPSONS by 0.5 to 1.7, BOB’S BURGERS by 0.5 to 1.5, FAMILY GUY by 0.7 to 2.0, and AMERICAN DAD by an awful 0.8 to 1.5.

NBC:  The PRO BOWL‘s preliminary number is 3.2, which is down 0.1 from last year’s morning rating, but it will go up once west coast viewing is taken into account.

ABC:  The attempt to counterprogram with a wedding THE BACHELOR special worked better than other Sunday Bachelor specials have done, although still not very impressive with 1.6.  The network rounded out the night with a 0.5 CASTLE rerun.

THE BLACKLIST continues to have HOLLYWOOD GAME NIGHT as its lead-in tonight, its last new episode before it returns post-Olympics back in its comfy spot after The Voice.  Also, FOX will hope that it didn’t dissipate the momentum of THE FOLLOWING‘s season premiere with an 8-day delay, and will rerun the premiere episode at 8PM before tonight’s new hour at 9PM.
