Big Brother had no trouble with preseason football.
CBS: BIG BROTHER rose 0.3 from last week to 2.5, easily the top show of the night. 60 MINUTES was also up 0.3 to 1.1, and UNFORGETTABLE grew by 0.1 to 0.9, while RECKLESS stayed at 0.5.
NBC: NFL PRESEASON FOOTBALL was at 1.9 in preliminary numbers, down 0.2 from last week’s game on FOX. (NBC aired reruns last Sunday.) That’s considerably down from the 2.7 for last year’s preseason game on the parallel Sunday night. An hour of DATELINE started the night at 1.2, slightly ahead of the competing 60 Minutes.
ABC: The finale of RISING STAR rose 0.1 to 0.9. WIPEOUT dropped 0.1 to 0.8, with a 7PM hour at 0.7.
FOX: A 7PM rerun of AMERICAN DAD is currently on top for the night at 1.3, but that may well reflect an afternoon sports overrun.
Tonight’s event is the EMMY AWARDS, airing on a Monday so that NBC could broadcast last night’s football game. None of the other networks appear fazed by the competition, as they’ll all be airing their usual Monday summer line-ups.
