SHOWBUZZDAILY THURSDAY NETWORK SCORECARD – 9.10.2020

 

The NFL brought ratings to a dimension they haven’t seen in a while, but not quite where they’ve been.

DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary live+same day key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).

Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.

NBC:  The preliminary 5.4 for the NFL FOOTBALL season opener was down a full point from last year’s early rating, which adjusted up by 0.7 in finals.

ABC:  The season finale of HOLEY MOLEY dropped 0.1 to 0.4, followed by a clip show special at 0.3 and a SHARK ATTACK special at 0.3.

CBS:  BIG BROTHER lost 0.1 to 1.0, and LOVE ISLAND held at 0.4.  A BULL rerun ended the night at 0.3.

FOX:  Reruns at 0.3/0.2/0.2.

CW:  MYSTERIES DECODED was steady at 0.1, followed by a PENN & TELLER: FOOL US rerun at 0.1.

Tonight, ABC airs the special 9/11 REMEMBERED: THE DAY WE CAME TOGETHER.

COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 live+same day ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.

Note: The fast affiliate-based ratings below measure what aired on network affiliates in 210 U.S. markets from 8-11 pm Eastern & Pacific or 7-10 pm Central & Mountain. The numbers are some combination of the network schedule and any pre-emptions (such as local news or weather coverage). Accurate program ratings will be available this afternoon with the broadcast finals.

CABLE RATINGS: Come back this afternoon for detailed demographic ratings for top Thursday cable programs. Broadcast finals for Thursday will be available Monday morning, the final delay related to Labor Day.
