In the official ratings, Game 2 of the World Series came in at a 3.5 rating with Adults 18-49, above the 2.9 fast national rating and even higher than our adjusted 3.3 rating from this morning.  The World Series remains a disaster, however.

Last night is clearly the lowest rated Game 2 in history with young adults, and it more narrowly set the new record low for viewership with anyone over the age of 2.  Game 2 did not decline from Game 1’s rating as severely as in other recent years, most likely because it was a much closer ball game than Game 1 Wednesday night.

FOX’s coverage of World Series Game 2 matches the season high for a Thursday X Factor.  Still, not worth all the disruption to the X Factor schedule and the rest of the schedule generally.  FOX has to be rooting for a four-game sweep by the Giants, ending the Series Sunday night.  The weather forecast for Detroit now shows a 20% chance of rain Saturday (Game 3) and only 10% on Sunday (Game 4).

Elementary continues to edge down and is now well behind Mentalist‘s pace last fall.  The rest of the schedule, though, keeps CBS near the top on Thursday.

NBC Thursday’s official nationals match our adjusted fast nationals from this morning.  Last year’s comparisons are especially low because NBC aired repeats (oddly) against a declining asset like the World Series.
