Now that Thursdays are crammed with scripted hours, perhaps it’s not a surprise that the night’s veteran reality show topped them all.
DEMOGRAPHIC DETAIL: For each broadcast program (or hour segment), the chart below displays preliminary key advertiser demographics (adult 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 ratings), audience skews (women 18-49, men 18-49 and adults 50+ shares) and total viewership (thousands of people over the age of 2).
Ratings analysis and comparisons follow the chart.
CBS: BIG BROTHER launched its Thursday installment at 2.0, down 0.1 from Wednesday’s premiere. The 2-hour season premiere of UNDER THE DOME fell 0.8 from 2014 to 1.3, which is still a fair number for summer, but far from the 3.2 smash the show was when it started in 2013. (Note: DOME previously aired on Mondays.)
ABC: The 2d episode of ASTRONAUTS WIVES CLUB dropped 0.3 to 0.8. MISTRESSES fell 0.2 to a series low 0.7. The season 6 premiere of ROOKIE BLUE was a series low 0.6, down half a point from its 2014 premiere.
NBC: After a steady 1.3 for DATELINE, AQUARIUS celebrated its renewal for a 2d season by falling 0.1 to a series low 0.6. The newly-canceled HANNIBAL followed by dropping 0.1 to its own series low 0.4.
FOX: BOOM! premiered at a blah 0.9, but WAYWARD PINES held impressively well at 1.2 despite the heavy scripted competition in its hour.
CW: BEAUTY AND THE BEAST lost 0.1 to tie its series low 0.2, the same as the VAMPIRE DIARIES rerun that followed.
FOX has the US vs China WOMENS WORLD CUP game in primetime tonight, and CBS features the season finale of THE BRIEFCASE. On cable, Disney Channel has TEEN BEACH 2.
COMPARISONS TO SIMILAR NIGHTS: Preliminary adult 18-49 ratings versus the same night last year and same night last week.
